Fort
Amherst Volunteers
Fort Amherst currently has a good base of
volunteers and it is growing week by week; but we do require
more volunteers to assist in the maintenance and running
of the largest and most complete Regency Fortress in Europe.

There couldn't be a better time to join us as Fort Amherst
is the 'jewel in the crown' for Chatham's World Heritage
Site bid. The Fort will form a major part of the Great Lines
Heritage Park with major restoration projects commencing
shortly and the entire facade of the Fort, on all four sides,
will become visible and dominate Chatham's sky line once
more!
Fort Amherst is a site of international
historical importance.
There are many areas that our volunteers work and they only
put in the time that they can spare ....
all of their time
is invaluable to Fort Amherst.
We need people to help in guiding, maintenance, gardening,
special events (including night time events), restoration
of the fort's cannons (the largest privately owned collection
in the UK) and much, much more.

If you want to become a volunteer,
even if you only can spare a few hours, we would really
like to hear from you.
